There was a period of time when I wrote as many articles as I could. With a slightly larger family, and less time devoted to open source projects, I write far less often now. But, I am still very proud of the writing that I have done.
For most of my life, I wanted to write books. Notice that is plural. Well, I've written one, and I won't be writing another one. This was 9 months of a lot of work. I wrote about one chapter a week, and at the end I needed to get somebody to help me finish the book.
Every once in a while I write an article for a paper magazine. I try very hard to come up with topcis that are interesting to a large audience for these articles. Since most of my articles aren't available on-line, I just list the magazine and the article topic.
I spent a couple of years as a regular columnist for a couple of web sites. This was a great second source of income, but it was always stressful to have to come up with the article topics so far in advance. Each of these columns was a 6 month contract, and I had to have the whole set of articles defined at the beginning of the contract.
