I used to have far more hobbies than I have now. Work and family have conspired together to restrict my free time dramatically. Back when I had free time, I had a couple of hobbies that I enjoyed.

Pottery

I do have one obsession that I have been spending time on recently, pottery. I took my first class at the end of May, and I have been throwing at least twice a week since then. I took my classes at the Sertoma Arts Center. I have added a small page with pictures of what I have made so far.

Martial Arts

I trained in various martial arts for about 8 years. I studied Chosondo and Hapkido for 4 years at the Raleigh Institute of Martial Arts. When I moved to California, I studied with Adrian De Silva at the Academy of Martial Arts. When I moved back to Raleigh, I tried to resume my studies, but I found that my heart just wasn't in it anymore. I hope to go back to the martial arts someday, but not until it is fun again.

Bread

The hobby that I have maintained the longest is baking bread. I try to bake bread every few weeks, although often I go a month or two between loaves. My favorite (and my family's favorite) is my cinnamon swirl bread. But, we also make pizza together every week.
